Terms of Service

Who we are

Veni Inc operates the Veni service. Veni is a community app for discovering and hosting faith and spiritual gatherings across traditions, such as prayer, meals, study, and walks. These Terms are a contract between you and Veni Inc (“Veni”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Veni you agree to them.

Your account & phone verification

Veni is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old, and of sufficient age to form a binding contract in your country of residence, to use Veni. Gatherings are arranged between adults meeting in person.

Veni accounts are tied to a verified phone number. When you sign up or sign in we send a one-time code by SMS to the number you provide. You confirm the number is yours and that you can receive SMS on it.

You are responsible for activity on your account. Keep your phone number up to date — it is how you sign in.

Community rules

Veni is real people gathering in real places. You agree to: use your real name, only create gatherings you genuinely intend to host, and treat others with kindness and respect.

Veni brings together people from different faith traditions and backgrounds. Respect others’ beliefs and practices. Your own spiritual affiliation, if you share it, stays private to you and is never shown to hosts or other users.

You must not: harass, threaten, or discriminate against others; impersonate anyone; post unlawful, deceptive, or harmful content; use Veni for commercial solicitation without our permission; or attempt to access other users’ private data.

There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You can report any gathering or person — tap “Report” on their profile or the gathering, or use Profile → Privacy → Report an incident — and you can block anyone so you no longer appear to each other. We review reports and remove objectionable content and the users who post it, typically within 24 hours.

We may remove content, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these rules or put the community at risk.

Gatherings & safety

Some gatherings are open for people to join directly. Others require host approval before someone can attend. Hosts choose the approval setting for their gathering, and Veni may add safeguards where needed to protect the community.

For approval-based gatherings, the exact location is only shared after the host approves the attendee. Open gatherings may show the location to people who can view or join the gathering.

Veni does not organise, supervise, or vet gatherings or attendees. You attend and host at your own risk. Use good judgement: meet in appropriate places, and report anything that feels off via Profile → Privacy → Report an incident.

Payments & payouts

Some gatherings ask for money. A host can set a fixed amount, or ask for a suggested donation where the guest chooses what to give. Veni takes the payment for the spot and pays the host afterwards. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store card details.

Guests pay a service fee of 10% on top of the amount they give. The host receives the amount they set, or the amount the guest offered.

Where a gathering needs approval, the guest’s card is authorised when they request a spot and only charged once the host approves. If the host does not respond before the authorisation expires, usually within a few days, it is released and the guest is not charged.

Veni holds the money until the gathering has happened. The host’s share is sent to their connected Stripe account 24 hours after the gathering ends. Stripe then pays it out to the bank account on file, on the schedule the host controls in their Stripe dashboard. If a gathering is priced in a different currency to the payout account, Stripe converts at their rate, so the amount that lands can differ from the amount listed.

Hosts must complete Stripe onboarding, including identity and bank details, before a gathering can take money. That account is governed by the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, and the payout country is fixed when the account is created. Hosts are responsible for any tax on what they receive.

If a host cancels a gathering, everyone who paid is refunded and any authorisation that was not yet charged is released. If a host declines a request, the guest is never charged. If a guest leaves a gathering after being approved and paid, that payment is not refunded and still goes to the host, because the spot was held for them.

Refunds go back to the original payment method, less payment processing costs where those apply, and never come to less than the amount the host asked for. If a payment looks wrong, contact the host first, then email us.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you post (profile details, photos, gathering descriptions). You grant Veni a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, display, and share that content within the service so the app can work — e.g. showing your gathering to people nearby.

You confirm you have the rights to anything you upload.

Termination

You can stop using Veni and delete your account at any time from Profile → Account. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. liability limits) survive termination.

Disclaimers & liability

Veni is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of any kind and are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, or for what happens at gatherings arranged through the app. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Changes & contact

We may update these Terms; if changes are material we will notify you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Veni after that means you accept the updated Terms.
